The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest by Stieg Larsson

Oh boy was this story at least two CD's to long.  We listened to this story on a road trip to California and I thought it would never end.

I am not sure I ever figured out what was going on in the story and I know that I never really cared.  It wasn't a bad story it was just too convoluted and long, long, long....

The character we met in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is back but she is in trouble.  Her friend and lover from that book is also back and is trying to help her.

People are dead and the police believe that Lisbeth is the killer.  Blomkvist believes her to be innocent so he manages to sneak her in a computer so that Lisbeth can do what she does best, hack into peoples computers to find the truth.  Blomkvist in the meantime talks his sister into representing Lisbeth in court.

The problems stem from Lisbeth's father and his evil background.  There are some very strong forces trying to protect her father and to do so requires them to keep Lisbeth quiet and if possible incarcerated.

Blomkvist in the meantime is dealing with his partner leaving their publication "Millenium" to work for another publication and finds it to be more than her fair share of challenges.

There are so many plots and subplots going on in this book that is impossible to follow.  Parts of it is very interesting but I can not help but think there should have been a publisher somewhere saying " cut the crap out of the book".  It could have been half the size and been more entertaining.

I still like the story, i think the main story anyway, and would like to read the remaining story.
