I love this book. At times it has been so slowwwwww but the story is so interesting and it's happening in the time of Queen Mary's rule in England. I learned more about that time. I already knew a lot about Henry the VIII's reign and of course Elizabeth's reign but I was unaware of the religious persecution and related killings due to Mary's reign. Bad girl your highness.
The story of the "holy" fool and her arranged marriage is sad and sweet and complicated. I will never understand why anyone would have wanted to be at court during those dangerous times of the 1500's.
